On 9th February Wolfie and Quark tried their KC Good Citizens' Tests. Wolfie gained his Gold Award and Quark his Bronze Certificate.  Wolfie can be seen practising the main solo elements of the Gold test on my Video Page and below is a video of the two boys pictured on Test Night and having some time out in the local countryside a few days ago.

Lots of new candidates have joined the Bridgend Canine Association Club to train for the Bronze Award. Young Quark has now moved up to the Silver Group, which is far smaller at the moment.

The video still below is blurred because YouTube delected a still fron the transition between two frames. :/

The first fine day for ages so made the most of it tidying up in the garden and training some of the dogs. Started with summer, heelwork on lead, sits and short stays and recall. She was very good. Wolfie was very good at his sit and down stays, heelwork and recall, but he needs to stop straighter. We left finishes today. Quark's heelwork is not very 'together' but he is getting there. His recalls (without finish) are better than Wolfie's in that he sits straight in front of me and he doesn't attempt to jump up. His stays are very good.

Cassie is rather impulsive and needs to settle into her training after a long break. She tends to stop short on the recall but am working on it. Heelwork on lead is okay and but she doesn't want to know off lead. Stays are okay but kept them shorter today .
